I’m surprised the track loop to enable the engine swap from one end of the train to the other still uses the main “ live ” track . Surely this takes a lot of permissions to be able to do this manoeuvre, wouldn’t your own Asheville loop be easier even if it took up some of the new yard space ? Were tipper trains considered for the new yard to save you unloading it? And your water tanks, while you would loose the benifit of gravity And therefore need pumps, Have you considered burying them to save space. ?
